Chairman of the Ukrainian Agri Council Andrii Dykun and Deputy Chairman Denys Marchuk met with People’s Deputy Halyna Yanchenko, Chairman of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Investor Protection.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the unjustified criminal cases opened against farmers by law enforcement agencies. Legal prosecution creates risks for the further operation of agricultural enterprises that provide hundreds of jobs and tens of millions of hryvnias in taxes to the budgets of various levels. This is unacceptable in wartime. In particular, the UAC drew attention to the recent incidents in Cherkasy region.
"We discussed the cases that a number of the UAC members in Cherkasy region have faced. We agreed to study all the materials, and then we will understand whether there is a reason for the work of the Parliamentary Special Commission. The UAC is one of the largest agricultural associations with more than 1,100 members. Not so long ago, we have already resolved the problematic situation with the Krasnohirsk oil plant in Cherkasy region. Let's try to understand why the farmers of this region are having problems again," Galyna Yanchenko, Head of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Investor Protection, wrote on her Facebook page about the meeting.
We remind that on June 16, the UAC appealed to People’s Deputy Galyna Yanchenko to take all possible measures to stop the unjustified criminal prosecution of DK VET LLC, AF Maiak LLC and their officials.
Another incident occurred on July 7, 2023. The police, together with the SSU, searched the homes of the owners and directors and the administrative buildings of Volia LLC and Zolotoniskyi Bekon LLC (both of them are parts of the Time group). Investigators believe that the management received reimbursement from the state for the construction of an elevator, a fattening complex and a potato storage facility, but did not complete them. Law enforcement officers did not respond to the provision of the necessary documentation confirming the commissioning of all facilities and blocked the accounts of the farms. The inability to pay suppliers may soon lead to bankruptcy for some of the largest agricultural enterprises in Cherkasy region.
