We continue to convey UAC position on the opening of the land market in Ukraine in the cycles of documentary strands "Whose Land is" on "Public TV".
In the third episode, UAC Deputy Chairman Denys Marchuk emphasizes at the main points of land reform.
“At the beginning only self-employed individuals (citizens of Ukraine!) will be able to acquire land ownership rights (the limit is 100 hectares), and then (from January 1, 2024) - legal bodies. The important point is that the ultimate beneficiary of legal bodies that want to buy land should be only the citizens of our country. In addition, the concentration limit will not reach more than 10,000 hectares per legal body, "he explains.
At the same time, the expert notes, in the conditions of land market introduction small and medium agribusiness will not be able to compete with large ones.
"Today, the state’s support for farmers is not enough, and lending is not available - the rates are very high. Therefore, at the start of the land market, a small farmer will lose to large agricultural enterprises, which can be credited abroad at 2-3%. That is why it is extremely important today to support small and medium agribusiness. We appeal to the President, the Cabinet of Ministers to develop a support program for small farms and medium-sized agribusiness for the period of land reform in Ukraine,” the expert concluded.
