Since May 11, employees of the Bureau of Economic Security have been conducting investigative actions on the territory of the elevator complex of Transservice 2008 in Odesa region. According to the company's employees, law enforcement officers entered the territory under the pretext of investigating another company, and all this time they have been pretending to conduct investigative actions, but in fact blocking the company's work.

‘Transservice 2008’ has been providing grain storage, transportation and transshipment services for 15 years. Today, the company employs more than 160 people, and during the period of the full-scale invasion, Transservice 2008 paid more than UAH 13 million in taxes and fees to the budgets of various levels. Due to its close proximity to the ports of Great Odesa, the company's clients are often users of the “Gain Corridor”, which is essential for the world and Ukraine.

From a legal perspective, BES employees are investigating tax evasion by another company that had no relations with Transservice 2008.

The problems with the BES employees began in early March this year. Then investigators blocked a ship with grain and kept it in the port for more than three weeks. Two weeks later, the situation was repeated with another vessel. And since May 11, BES employees have been practically living on the territory of Transservice 2008 as part of the same criminal proceedings against another company.

According to Pavlo Khomutovskyi, director of Transservice 2008, they conducted the investigation on the first day of their stay. Then they began to simply delay the process and pretend that they had been looking for something for almost two weeks in a row.

"We are not against the activities of law enforcement agencies, we have nothing to hide and do not consider ourselves guilty. But they parked their cars in front of the entrance to the territory and blocked the work of our company. No one can come or go, and they took away the keys to all the offices, thus taking control of the company. Their employee stays at the company overnight. In the morning, they come and open the gate to our company and stay with us all day, almost until curfew. They open the protocol, spend the whole day describing and copying things. In the evening, they postpone the investigative actions to the next day," said the company's director.

The actions of the BES are not clear to the management of the agricultural enterprise, because the employees of Transservice 2008 do not obstruct the investigators' actions and cooperate. Instead, law enforcement officers are just waiting for orders given to them over the phone and do nothing without instructions.

Due to such actions of BES employees, the company, as well as its clients, including well-known Ukrainian agricultural holdings, suffer millions in losses. The company's management has already appealed to the State Bureau of Investigation. A case has already been opened on the first case of blocking the vessel.

The Ukrainian Agri Council condemns such actions of the BES employees. In the conditions of war, when farmers are having a hard time as never before and the state needs tax revenues, blocking the work of an enterprise that is part of the grain corridor poses a direct threat to the economic security of the state.

The UAC will closely monitor the investigation in this case. We hope for a quick resolution of the situation around Transservice 2008.
