The Government of Ukraine has approved a decision to enhance the compensation mechanism for damaged crops in frontline territories. The decision was adopted on January 22 during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
State support will be available to agricultural producers operating in areas of potential or active combat, who have suffered losses due to war-related damages or adverse weather conditions.
Specifically, compensation of up to UAH 4,700 per hectare of damaged crops is provided, with a maximum coverage of 2,000 hectares per farm.
The Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC) has consistently advocated for the introduction and expansion of a mechanism for targeted support for farmers in frontline regions.
The association repeatedly submitted proposals to the Government, including:
- Inclusion of farms operating in areas of active and potential combat in state support programs;
- Compensation for losses caused by both military actions and adverse weather conditions;
- Implementation of a clear and accessible mechanism for farmers to receive assistance.
“Supporting affected agricultural producers remains one of the key priorities of our association in 2026,” said Andriy Dykun, Chairman of the UAC.
