The Ukrainian Agri Council signed a memorandum of cooperation with two national associations, Coldiretti and Filiera Italia, with the support of the Italian and Ukrainian Ministries of Agriculture during the conference on Ukraine's recovery, which is taking place in Rome.

Among the main issues agreed upon by the parties in the agreement are plans for cooperation in the stages of rapid recovery, medium and long-term reconstruction, as well as demining of agricultural areas and restoration of agricultural machinery, as well as bioenergy production and the use of the latest technologies for growing crops and cultivating fields. The projects in the agri-food sector to be implemented in Ukraine with the participation of Italian and Ukrainian companies are aimed at countering the global food crisis and will take into account the experience of the Italian agri-food model.

According to Andriy Dykun, Chairman of the Ukrainian Agri Council, "Support from international partners, in particular representatives of the agricultural business, is extremely important for Ukrainian farmers, as all participants are well aware of the needs of this market, and European countries have already had experience in restoring the agricultural sector after the war. Therefore, the role of Italian companies in agriculture, agri-food and agricultural mechanization will be crucial in restoring and strengthening economic relations with Ukraine, which is in the mutual interest of the two countries."

On behalf of the Ukrainian Agri Council, Andriy Dykun thanked Coldiretti and Filiera Italia for their support of the country and assured that joint projects developed in partnership with Ukrainian companies would be an important step in the restoration of the entire agricultural sector.

"Together with our partners, we are building strong and unwavering support for Ukraine in the world and attracting foreign business to rebuild our country," said the Chairman of the UAC.

The conference was attended by the highest representatives of the governments of Italy and Ukraine, the European Commission, and major international financial institutions. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke online.
