Ukrainian farmers, in cooperation with 29 communities in Ukraine, responded to a request from the military and donated five special mine trawls designed to check routes and protect against anti-personnel mines and improvised explosive devices for use by armored off-road vehicles on vehicle routes.
Work on demining equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine began after the military appealed to farmers, as it is agricultural producers working in frontline and liberated territories who are often forced to clear their fields of mines themselves and already have extensive experience in clearing land of explosive objects.
The mine detector has passed all state tests, is certified and codified according to NATO standards, and has been approved for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We have received a request from the military for 23 units. Farmers invested in the first test version, which has successfully passed all tests. Next, we began looking for opportunities to support the project in communities. To this end, the UAC members in the regions actively engaged in communication with local authorities.
As of September, thanks to active cooperation, 29 communities in Ukraine have already allocated subsidies for the purchase of unique demining devices: five have already been handed over to the military, and three more are in the process of being transferred.
The total amount is over UAH 12 million, which covers the cost of eight trawls.
Communities in Khmelnytsk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions have joined the initiative. The absolute record it is Khmelnytsk region, where 16 communities have supported the initiative.
We thank everyone who actively participates in supporting our defenders! We thank our participants for their professional and effective communication, and community representatives for their active and fruitful work in allocating subsidies for projects that save the lives of military personnel and enable us to clear our land of enemy shells.
We urge communities to join the initiative of their colleagues, because clean land means safety for our soldiers and the civilian population.
