UAC welcomes the signing by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi of a decree on the transfer of agricultural land from state to communal ownership. Communities have been waiting for this step for a long time! Full implementation of land reform is impossible without it.

Such actions show the President's intention to strengthen local self-government and promote its development. Such a position is correct and fair to communities and their residents. After all, until now they were hostages of the State Geocadastre departments, which could allocate land to anyone except residents of the same communities. This has given rise to multimillion-dollar corruption schemes and abuses.

At the same time, we hope that the provision of this decree will also reduce the opposition to the adoption of the bill №2194, which, in addition to the transfer of land to the municipal authorities, solve many other problems.

This is a reminder that the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Land and Agrarian Policy supported it before the second reading. We hope that the parliamentary factions will also release their votes.
