The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decision according to which 44 integral property complexes of state-owned enterprises will be transferred to the management of the State Agency for Land Reclamation and Fisheries, which is subordinated to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. This is mentioned in the Order dated August 12, 2022 No. 714-r "On the transfer of integral property complexes of state enterprises, institutions and organizations to the sphere of management of the State Agency for Land Reclamation and Fisheries".

UAC welcomes the Government's decision to transfer melioration systems, which were previously subordinated to the State Water Agency, to the relevant agricultural department. This will be another step on the way to reform agricultural land reclamation. The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will authorize the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food to start the modernization of hydrotechnical infrastructure.

In the conditions of climate change in recent years, the restoration of state irrigation systems will contribute to increase the yield of agricultural crops and global food security. We can expect an increase in ​​irrigated land areas, an increase in investments in land reclamation, and the formation of tariffs for irrigation services that are favorable for agribusiness.
