Today, the UAC members met with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev. The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance Svitlana Vorobei and MP Oleksandr Kovalchuk.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the key issues that require legislative regulation in the tax area for farmers. Among them:

• the introduction of patronage dividends in cooperatives and their taxation at the level of a cooperative member;
• the consolidation of the concept of “agricultural producer” as an agricultural producer and agricultural service provider for the purposes of the single tax;
• the establishment of a reduced excise tax rate on diesel fuel for agricultural producers;
• amendments to Article 281 of the Tax Code to exempt owners of land plots transferred into emphyteusis from paying land tax.
• special attention was paid to supporting the cooperative movement in the agricultural sector.

"State support for the cooperative movement is a matter of equity and rural development. There is a law on cooperation in Ukraine, but due to gaps in tax legislation, in particular the lack of a mechanism for patronage dividends, we cannot fully apply it. Adoption of the relevant legislative changes will allow farmers to unite and work on equal terms with big business," emphasized Andrii Dykun, the UAC Chairman.

Based on the results of the discussion, the UAC will prepare official proposals on each of the above issues. Further professional discussion of farmers with representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada is expected to find optimal solutions at the legislative level.
