The Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC) took part in a meeting dedicated to expanding exports of Ukrainian agricultural products and opening new international markets. The event was held in Kyiv on May 7 and chaired by Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Taras Vysotskyi, Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Serhii Tkachuk, as well as representatives of relevant ministries, government agencies, and agricultural associations. The UAC was represented by its Deputy Chairman, Denys Marchuk.

During the meeting, participants discussed prospects for expanding exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to the European Union, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, as well as mechanisms for diplomatic support of Ukrainian exporters.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 19 new markets were opened for Ukrainian agricultural products in 2025. In 2026, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Georgia, and Vietnam have already been added to this list.

Particular attention was given to logistics challenges facing Ukrainian exports amid disruptions related to the Strait of Hormuz and the search for alternative supply routes.

During the meeting, the UAC also submitted an appeal regarding workforce reservation policies for employees in the agricultural sector.

"Export development and access to new markets are important, but it is equally important to ensure that there are people available to work in the fields. We urge policymakers to take a balanced approach to workforce reservation, as this issue is currently a major concern for agricultural producers," Denys Marchuk emphasized.
