Experts of the Ukrainian Agri Council explained the procedure for solving the most common tax problems of agricultural producers that have arisen as a result of hostilities or occupation by the Russian Federation.
Within the framework of the project "Supporting agricultural MSMEs affected by active hostilities or Russian’s temporary occupation", implemented by the UAC with the support of the USAID Agricultural Growing Rural Opportunities Activity in Ukraine Program (AGRO), an online training "Current Problems of Taxation of Affected Agricultural Producers" was held. The joint project was launched at the end of September this year to implement the main three areas
- assistance in solving the problems of agricultural MMEs affected by the hostilities;
- protection of the rights and assets of agricultural MMEs;
- resumption of operations in the de-occupied territories.
"In addition to providing legal assistance to affected farmers, the project collects all relevant issues and brings them to the attention of our government and international partners for a systematic approach to solving the problems of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Another important area of our activity is to help agricultural producers document the damage caused," said Dmytro Kokhan, Deputy Chairman of the UAC.
During the online training, Olha Bohdanova, Deputy Chairman of the UAC on Tax Issues, Managing Partner of Crowe Erfolg Ukraine, Crowe A&A Ukraine, explained the following issues
application of the order of the Ministry of Reintegration (list of territories where military operations are (were) conducted or temporarily occupied) for the purposes of obtaining tax benefits:
- extension of the period of application of local government benefits from local self-government bodies with minimal tax liability, single and land taxes;
- adjustments to reporting: minimal tax liability for 2022-2023, single tax of the 4th group, land and environmental taxes, etc;
- benefits for land that is under conservation or contaminated with explosive objects;
- benefits for destroyed real estate or such ones that needs major repairs;
- the share of agricultural production of affected farmers.
The training was attended by 111 affected agricultural producers, and over 400 views were received during the event's Facebook broadcast.
In general, the UAC experts answered more than 50 practical questions from the training participants, providing the necessary information on problematic issues.
