According to the decision of the Board, the UAC expressed its support for the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi and emphasized the need to preserve the Ministry.
During the period of work of the team headed by the current Minister, representatives of the agrarian sector did not have any comments on the systematic and professional work of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. Working with the Ministry, experts and members of the UAC have always had a professional dialog and the opportunity to openly discuss all important issues for the industry. Despite the controversy over its position on the land market, the Ministry has been working professionally and in a coordinated manner with agricultural producers and the members of the UAC, in particular.
Together we have worked on legislative initiatives to develop the agricultural sector and together we have addressed the difficult circumstances faced by agricultural producers due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Together, we defend the position of Ukrainian producers to continue exports and ensure the effective operation of the “routes of solidarity”. We find constructive solutions for enterprises in the de-occupied territories.
The Ministry's work is more challenging and responsible than ever, and it needs to be strengthened and supported to represent the interests of the industry and help farmers in Ukraine and internationally.
We emphasize that in view of the upcoming negotiation process between Ukraine and the EU, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy faces complex tasks and challenges in terms of implementing European legislation and requires the continued professional work of the Ministry's team. Therefore, the Ukrainian Agri Council stands for the preservation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and strengthening the representation of the agricultural sector on the path to European integration and Ukraine's membership in the EU for the effective operation of the key sector for the Ukrainian economy.
