In the first three months of 2026, experts of the Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC) processed more than 258 requests from 174 agricultural enterprises across 20 regions of Ukraine regarding employee reservation and obtaining critical enterprise status. The consultations were provided within a project to support Ukrainian agricultural producers from affected regions in partnership with the international humanitarian organization Mercy Corps.

Small and medium-sized agricultural producers are turning to UAC’s free legal advisory hotline for professional assistance with document preparation, confirmation of critical status, and reservation of key employees.

“For agricultural enterprises, obtaining critical status and reserving employees is not only essential for stable operations but also for the timely conduct of sowing and harvesting campaigns. The ability to retain key specialists — agronomists, machine operators, engineers, and other professionals — ensures the continuity of production processes and supports food security at both the community and national levels. Such professional support is particularly important for enterprises in affected and frontline communities,” said Lesia Pankratova, UAC Consultant on Accounting and Taxation.

The project is ongoing and covers the entire territory of Ukraine, with a primary focus on regions most affected by the war, including Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Odesa, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Kirovohrad regions.

We remind that UAC experts provide professional consultations to agricultural producers on employee reservation, critical status designation, accounting and taxation, land relations, and participation in state support programs.
