The land reform design that has been adopted is correct and systematic. One that solves the most acute problems facing the agricultural sector in this direction.

This issue was empathized by UAC Deputy Chairman Mykhailo Sokolov during the round table "The future of land reform - a road map for 2021", organized by the Kyiv School of Economics.

At the same time, it we are worried about the situation how other bills are adopted, which will determine the success of land reform in the short term. In particular, the bill №2194, which was sent for a second reading. It provides for the transfer of state-owned agricultural land which is outside settlements to community ownership.

"It is very important that the bill №2194 and other initiatives in the field of deregulation are going to be adopted as soon as possible. After all, we will not see a positive result of the land market at once. Investment in irrigation or land consolidation will not have an immediate effect. That is a very long process. But such initiatives as the bill №2194 give the results right now," Mykhailo Sokolov mentioned.

In addition, we need to solve the problem connected with an access to finance for small farmers. After all, if this is not done, they can be left without the possibility of buying land. Therefore, it is extremely important that appropriate laws can be adopted in this direction as well.
