In early July, investigative actions were launched in the fields of Agrofirma Perspektyva during the harvest in Kirovohrad region. Representatives of the company report that law enforcement officers stopped the work of the equipment without warning, did not present proper documents, and did not draw up the relevant protocol.
This was done contrary to the decision of the Fortechna City Court in Kropyvnytskyi, which had previously denied investigators' request to seize the agricultural company's property. The court also emphasized that interference in the company's economic activities could lead to international complications, as its assets are pledged to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Lawyers claimed that this was an abuse of power and illegal interference in economic activities.
"Any police action regarding private property must be carried out exclusively on the basis of a court decision. However, the police do not have a single court decision authorizing the seizure of equipment or crops belonging to Agri Enterprize Perspektyva. Obstruction of lawful activities, especially during the harvest season, causes enormous losses to the enterprise and jeopardizes the preservation of the harvest, which can be destroyed by bad weather right in the field at any moment," defense attorney Andrii Tyshchenko emphasized the violations of the law.
The defense has filed complaints with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Bureau of Investigation, the Verkhovna Rada, and other authorities, and will seek to restore justice.
The Ukrainian Agri Council strongly condemns the use of force against agricultural producers. During the harvest season, such actions pose a direct threat to food security. The UAC calls on the authorities to intervene, ensure legality, and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
