The Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC) calls on the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to publish the resolution on the reservation of employees for military deferment, which was adopted last week, as soon as possible.

Delaying the publication of the document creates critical risks for the agricultural sector.

Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the UAC, explained the problem in detail.

“The absence of the ability to fully carry out reservation under the new system creates a critical situation. We still do not see the government's resolution published, although it was adopted last week. The old exemption process is no longer working, and the new one has not yet been implemented. Due to the lack of clear documents, we cannot make reservations, which entails additional economic burdens,” said Denis Marchuk.

The UAC emphasizes that prompt resolution of this issue is vital for the stable operation of the industry and the country's food security.

“When we can't cultivate land where hostilities are ongoing, these are objective circumstances, and when we can't sow fields due to the lack of workers because we couldn't reserve them in time, this will be the result of our internal shortcomings. This can be avoided if we urgently update the procedure and give a boost to business so that agricultural enterprises can book workers,” the UAC Deputy Chairman emphasized.

The UAC hopes that the government will complete all procedural steps to publish the resolution to ensure the work of the strategic sector for the economy
