On July 3, there was a roundtable on the topic "Starting the land market: should the state-owned land be put on sale at the first stage?” attended by the adviser of the UAC on cooperation with state authorities Dmitry Kohan.

At a result, there was published a post-release in which organizers of the discussion presented only one position of the participants, while another position was not highlighted.

In particular, the post-release states "As a result of this discussion, most of its participants unanimously came to the conclusion that land reform should begin with the sale of state and private lands simultaneously. And vice versa: the start of the land market for the sale of exclusively state arable land will not give the expected effect for the economy, will not allow the land area to be transparent and will not provide access to the land of small and medium farmers."

While the representative of the UAC noted that, the first stage should begin with the realization of communal property. During the preparatory stage, it is necessary to transfer all state lands outside the settlements to communal ownership of territorial communities and to give them the right to dispose of them, including putting them on sale. Only then it is possible to open the land market, in which the object of sale will be the communal land, transferred to communities. We note that UAC is against the sale of private land at the first stage of land reform.

UAC calls for an open and honest dialogue, which excludes the manipulation of facts and information in favor of one or another position. Land reform is one of the most important reforms that Ukraine expects, so openness and honesty in its discussion are extremely important.
