The Ukrainian Agricultural Council, together with the USAID “Support for Agrarian and Rural Development” project, met on October 3 to finalize the training of land surveyors and heads of united territorial communities (UTC).

The purpose of this training was to provide local governments with assistance in the organization and implementation of land management within the territory of the UTC.

The training of land surveyors and chairmen of the UTC lasted for four months. Representatives of Kyiv, Kherson, Vinnytsya, Cherkasy, Khmelnytsky and Odesa regions joined it.

In general, the training included four workshops, during which land surveyors learned about the basics of working with geographic information systems, updating the mapping basis using orthophotomaps, and creating an address register. They have learned to create an economic profile of the UTC, to determine the boundaries of working with state property in the territory of the UTC, to apply regimen objects, to create schemes and to create databases. In addition, during the training sessions we talked about the writing and implementation of information projects.

Upon completion of the training, land surveyors learned to create maps of rational and perspective use of community land.

Using the knowledge gained will help to create effective business and community interaction and promote the implementation of transparent land relations.

Recall that on September 28, Palanka UTC (Cherkasy Oblast) held the first public discussion on "Perspective use of UTC land resources" within the framework of the USAID “AgroSilRozvytok” project with support of the Ukrainian Agricultural Council.

In the framework of the land management project of Palanka UTC, a perspective plan for the use of community land was developed, which is publicly available on the Palanka UTC site in the form of land management charts. According to the results of the work, the community in the long run received such investment projects as industrial park, flour-grinding complex, dairy factory, slaughterhouse, sorting station of garbage, etc. All this will give the community real jobs and a systematic budget overhaul.

Appropriate developments are ready for implementation in other communities.
