Farmers call on Volodymyr Zelenskyi to promote the adoption of the bills on deregulation in the land relations sector and to take personal control of the investigation into the illegal expropriation of agricultural land. This issue is stated in an address to the President which was sent by the Public Union "Ukrainian Agrarian Forum" (UAF), which includes relevant agricultural associations: Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC), Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club, Agrarian Union of Ukraine, Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Ukrainian Association communities and the Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine.
"The agrarian business community welcomes the political will of the state leadership to establish order in land relations and supports the initiatives of the State Geocadastre of Ukraine to carry out its deep deregulation and transformation into a service organization, as well as to complete the inventory of agricultural land and all functions transferring on land plots disposal to the united territorial communities.
We are convinced that land management should be done at the places of their location, but not from the State Geocadastre bureaucrats’ cabinets," the representatives of the agrarian community said.
Farmers ask the President to facilitate the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of important land bills №2194 and №2195, which will introduce deregulation in the land relations sector, minimize citizen contact with officials, introduce digital transformation of the State Geocadastre and electronic auctions.
Farmers also emphasize that it is extremely important to investigate crimes committed against the illegal agricultural land expropriation.
"To our mind, the mentioned investigations require personal control of the President of Ukraine and public involvement in order to ensure publicity and professional assessment of this process," the appeal announces.
At the same time, farmers assured that the agrarian community welcomes the transfer of agricultural land from state to communal property, which should take place in accordance with the Presidential Decree.
"Organizations from UAF are confident that by increasing revenues to local budgets from the land plots lease, not only comprehensive rural development can be (and consequently, the quality of life in rural areas improving) but also the efficiency of agricultural production in certain territories increasing," it is specified in the letter.
Farmers are convinced that a balanced and transparent policy in the land relations sector will contribute to the economic development of Ukraine and improve the conditions for agricultural commodity production.
