New crop wheat will be sold at prices higher than last year's. Ukrainian farmers will not sell wheat for nothing, as the supply of grain will be significantly reduced.

This issue was discussed on July 11 during a weekly briefing organized by the analytical center of the PUSK cooperative, created within the UAC.

"If in June 70% of the exported Ukrainian wheat was from the old harvest, now the supply of grain is starting to fall. Stocks are minimal, and only 200,000 tons of new crops have been harvested.

Wheat is the most responsive crop among all crops to the news of the grain corridor extension and is the most politicized. Political news about the possible withdrawal of Russia, which will be intensified in the coming weeks, will be a supportive factor for wheat prices, which will at least remain at current levels. According to predictions, Ukraine will harvest 14-15 million tons of wheat by the end of July, then prices may temporarily drop amid a large supply, but in September they will be at least 200 USD/t," the analytical department of the PUSK cooperative believes.

They add that the global trend in the wheat market is upward. As already mentioned, wheat will be harvested less, but Ukraine will no longer have wheat stocks of 25 million tons, as it was last year.

"Given the predictions of the wheat harvest gross, Ukraine will need to export about 1 million tons per month, as logistics allow. Cultivation costs have increased, and farmers will not give away grain for nothing, last year's sales prices at the level of 160 USD/ton will no longer be there. In addition, farmers will not be in a hurry to sell grain until the price exceeds 200 USD/ton, that means, they will keep the products in anticipation of price tags that exceed the cost of cultivation," is mentioned by the PUSK cooperative.
