UAC welcomes the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the first reading of the draft law №3656 on reducing the VAT rate to 14% on certain types of agricultural products: whole milk; cattle, live pigs; wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, soybeans; rapeseed, sunflower and other oilseeds; sugar beets.

The bill is too important for the agricultural sector and the economy in general. It will help us:

• to save working capital for farmers, which will allow them to invest in farm development;
• making all parts of the agricultural sector legal - lowering the VAT rate will reduce the effectiveness of fraudulent schemes - the so-called "twists", through which a large part of grain is exported, and fraudsters illegally receive VAT refunds from the state budget.

Peoples’ Deputies voted for a shortened procedure for preparing this draft law for the second reading.
