The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered a draft law on amendments to Article 1-1 of the Law of Ukraine “On Export Duty Rates on Seeds of Certain Oilseeds.” The document provides for the return to farmers of funds paid in the form of export duties on soybeans and rapeseed.

The bill was developed with the participation of experts from the UAC's Smart Country Advisory Center and was promptly submitted to parliament thanks to the work of a regional working group created on the initiative of the UAC in Cherkasy region. Over the past few weeks, its members have held intensive consultations with People’s Deputies, presenting economic calculations and arguments from the agricultural community.

According to UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun, the bill was signed by MPs from most parliamentary factions with whom the Cherkasy working group worked. Such broad support significantly increases the chances of the document being successfully passed in parliament.

Consolidated work has proven its effectiveness: the arguments of agrarians, experts, and local authorities have been heard and taken into account by legislators.

The UAC continues to actively prepare agricultural forums in various regions. Our goal is to create working groups of farmers and parliamentarians in each region to strengthen cooperation between agricultural producers and parliament and ensure the promotion of key decisions for the industry.

The UAC sincerely thanks the following members of parliament for their support of the bill: Oleksandr Kovalchuk, Oleksandr Haidu, Danylo Hetmantsev, Oleh Kulinich, Ivan Chaikivskii, Artem Nahaevskyi, Ivan Kyrylenko, Serhii Rudyk, and Mykola Kucher.
