The Ukrainian wheat market is experiencing a price slack, as business activity on the global market has been declining since December 25 and approximately until January 5 due to the New Year's holidays.
This was discussed on December 26 during a weekly briefing organized by the analytical center of the First Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperative (FUAC), created within the UAC.
"By the end of the week, the conditional prices per ton of wheat will be in the range of USD185-190 CPT Danube, USD178-185 CPT Odesa, USD225-230 DAP Romania. In December-January, the prices for feed wheat on DAP Italy terms may reach up to USD215-218. As of January, traders have already contracted about 1 million tons of Ukrainian wheat," the analysts said.
A lot of Ukrainian wheat is shipped to Asia.
"In general, the global market is on the rise and starts to trade the new harvest. China is actively buying food wheat from Australia and France. In February-March, France may already finish exporting wheat. Asian countries, in their turn, realize that next season there may be weather problems and it is better to have wheat stocks. Therefore, Ukrainian wheat will continue to be in demand in Asian countries," was said by specialist of the FUAC.
