The Ukrainian Potato Day has started - Potato Blockchain, which is made by an experienced potato producer - the UAC member AE "Adelaida", who cultivates about 3 thousand hectares of irrigated land in Kherson region. Speaking with a welcoming speech, Chairman of the company Serhii Rybalko noted that he was grateful to all those who took part in the event:

"In the Kherson region, due to its climatic features, there is a struggle for the potato harvest, it is irrigated and worked on every day. But I am grateful to all the participants of the event, because they can show the best things that we have in Ukraine. Another important point is that we live here, invest, work, despite the fact that there are many dangers near the Crimea. That is why I am proud of my team, I am proud of the people of Kherson region who work here and who will invest in our country,” Serhiy Rybalko said.

The event began with the opening of a potato vegetable storehouse built by AE ​​"Adelaida". This is a territory with an area of ​​7 thousand square meters, where you can store 15 thousand tons of potatoes. It was built to store the second harvest of potatoes per season.

"In autumn, we will definitely dig up what was planted on June 30. Two years ago, we have started such a work - planting the second crop. And, in fact, this storage is being built for the second harvest of potatoes, and this harvest is successful," Chairman of AE ​​"Adelaida" Serhii Rybalko said.

A press conference was held in the new vegetable store with the participation of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko, People's Deputies of the Agrarian Committee, international missions’ delegations, local authorities’ representatives. The development of potato growing in Ukraine and state support in this area were discussed. In particular, the construction of such vegetable storages is among the priorities of state support for potato growing in Ukraine. This was emphasized by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko:

"This year, with the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Agrarian Committee and the unanimous support for expanding state participation in potato programs, we will start with normal full support. First of all, it concerns potato storage, processing, provision of appropriate infrastructure, compensatory measures at the loan rate in order to strengthen the relevant industry. It is very important that the relevant result of this year is ensured and the effectiveness of this program is shown. It is a great honor for us to open such a facility, as nowadays we have in the Kherson region, where modern technologies and best practices of the world are used. Therefore, the success of this program will make it possible for the next 2022 to establish more powerful program to support potato growing, because the main task for us is import substitution. Ukraine is able to provide itself with quality potatoes," the Minister said.

The Ukrainian Potato Day is an event that united potato growers from all over Ukraine. Participants and guests of the event have the opportunity to get acquainted with 76 varieties of potatoes from 8 breeding companies planted in the field, different types of watering, protection systems.
