On July 11, the Ukrainian Agricultural Council (UAC) held a meeting with Yuriy Boyko, Co-Chairman of the Political Opposition Bloc faction in Uman (Cherkasy region), and discussed key issues of the development of the domestic agrarian sector.
Agricultural workers from Cherkasy, Odesa, Kyiv and Kirovograd regions also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the parties talked, in particular, about the problem of raider attacks, which became threatening. According to UAC, last year the number of holdings of agricultural enterprises or attempts to allocate property and yields of domestic farmers increased 2.5 times from 2016 - to almost 1,000 from 360. In this case, farmers point out that often illegal land and harvest take place with participation The Ministry of Justice's Complaint Commission in the field of state registration (so-called Anti-Raiding Commission), which is intended to protect agricultural producers from this phenomenon.
Boyko promised that, on his part, the Opposition Bloc would make MPs appeals to the leadership of the Ministry of Justice and contribute to a faster solution to this problem.
In addition, the UAC told the faction chairman about its legislative activity, in particular, in the part of bills No. 8121 on counteraction to raiding, which was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on July 10 in the first reading, and No. 6527-d on cooperation, which has not yet been voted in parliament. Boyko noted their importance for the development of small and medium-sized businesses and promised support from the Opposition Bloc. He also promised to support the UAC initiatives to equalize the tax burden of 1 hectare, to improve the system of state support to the agrarian sector and to solve the problem of moving / transporting agricultural machinery by roads in Ukraine.
Other important topics for discussion were the problems that exist in the state at all levels of government. Thus, Boyko promised to become more involved in the development of the agrarian sector, as one of the main drivers of the development of the domestic economy.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct such activities on a regular basis.
