Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the second reading voted for the bill on democracy through the All-Ukrainian referendum.

The UAC welcomes the adoption of this law as an opportunity for Ukrainian citizens to express their views on important issues of state life. Including the possibility of foreign citizens to buy Ukrainian agricultural land.

The position (that only the people of Ukraine should have their decision in this matter) was defended by the UAC during the consideration of the land market law and the relevant paragraph was included in the final version of the document. Thanks to the law on democracy, Ukrainians get a mechanism through which they can exercise their right to make a decision.

The adoption of the law on democracy is also one of the points of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the UAC and the political party "Servant of the People", which sets out the common goals of the association and the party to carry out reforms in the agricultural sector.
