Online conferences with representatives from agribusiness, the StateGeoCadastre, line ministries, and local governments were held in Kyiv and Kharkiv regions.

The meetings are a part of the project to support the reform of the StateGeoCadastre by agribusiness and rural communities of Ukraine, implemented by the UAC with the support of USAID AGRO, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and the State.

USAID AGRO Legal Adviser Victor Kobylianskyi spoke about the benefits of opening up the land market and the things that farmers needed to pay special attention to. In particular, the positive point is the ability to legally acquire land ownership, additional lending opportunities and reliable protection of land rights.

"At the same time, among agricultural producers there are negative expectations because of the land market introduction. Some of them, such as the purchase of land by foreigners, the sale of state and communal land, the purchase of land for nothing, are baseless. However, there are those that need special attention. In particular, these are the problems of small and medium-sized businesses that are needed to be discussed. The small agricultural producer is afraid of competition, he will not be able to resist the agricultural holding, which will pay more for the land. There is also a problem, which, I am sure, will be – it is the raiding surge with the start of the land market," Viktor Kobylianskyi said.

The UAC Lawyer on Land issues Victoria Kipriianova focused on technical errors in the StateGeoCadastre - their types and ways to correct them.

“Technical mistakes in the StateGeoCadastre are one of those systemic ones that we found during communication with farmers gathering information before the start of the project. Such mistakes can either lead to the inability to sell the land plot at all, or take a lot of time to correct them," the lawyer said.

USAID AGRO Kharkiv Regional Coordinator Olena Kulyk presented the projects and initiatives that the program implemented in the region:

  • poultry school;
  • farms’ products market "Taste legends of Slobozhanshchyna";
  • opening of a school-workshop of confectionery and cheese art;
  • draft projects for the development of spatial planning plans for community development and others.

Also, the participants of the online conferences could get answers from the specialists from the main departments of the StateGeoCadastre in Kyiv and Kharkiv regions.
