Three days, nine meetings and new applications to join the UAC. These are the results of UAC teamwork with farmers of Ternopil and Rivne regions.
"It is very nice that farmers are actively involved in the work, join in the discussion not only of important issues in the agricultural sector, but also socio-economic ones. Starting with land issues, the creation of a cooperative movement in Ukraine, the development of the processing industry and ending with the impact on agribusiness of high tariffs for energy and gas. The main thing is that everyone wants changes and understands that they can be achieved by uniting, acting as a united front,” the UAC Deputy Chairman UAC Oleksandr Slipchenko said.
Farmers are concerned about the land market introduction. In particular, they are interested how taxes will be paid, what conditions they will have to work, what will happen to lease agreements and how to reissue them correctly.
Farmers are also concerned about the situation on the mineral fertilizers market. After all, nowadays the fate of the introduction of quotas on imports of mineral fertilizers is decided in court. And if the court still be at the side of the domestic oligarch-monopolist, farmers are afraid that it will hit the agricultural sector, because fertilizer can be more expensive by almost a third. The UAC team works in this direction and actively defends the agricultural producers’ interests.
At the same time, farmers were interested in the development of the communities where they cultivate the land. The new participants of the UAC once again mentioned the need for land decentralization. Agrarians of Western Ukraine stand for the draft bill №2194.
And, no less important, the meeting payed attention on regional education. The issue of training young people for the work in agricultural sector today is acute. On the example of the Ukrainian Agar Lyceum, the UAC team showed the possibilities of quality education develop in the regions.
Thank you to all the heads of agricultural enterprises who joined the meetings.
