The Ukrainian Agri Council supports the position of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko on the focus on key transformations in the industry - land reform ending, implementation of the national irrigation program and implementation of a full-fledged agricultural insurance institution, which was expressed today during a public discussion of the National Economic Strategy (NES) -2030 draft project on the topic: "Development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine."
The association also supports the position of the importance of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reconstruction in accordance with the regulations on the Ministry from 2015. The liquidation of the ministry by the Goncharuk’s government was a big mistake, which led to catastrophic consequences, as Ukraine became incomprehensible to investors. Now, with the restoration of the ministry, the entire agrarian community is waiting for the projected state policy in the agriculture sector and the solution of key issues.
The UAC Deputy Chairman Mykhailo Sokolov, took part in the discussion of the strategy. On behalf of the organization, he welcomed this initiative - the development of the strategy - as a guide for the agricultural sector development. At the same time, the UAC Deputy Chairman noted that many strategies for the development of the agricultural sector have been adopted so far, but unfortunately there are no results of their implementation.
"In our opinion, this is connected with the fact that the real strategy is developed in time. Today the issue of data shortage was raised, we have problems with statistics. Of course, any strategy that claims to be successful must be based on quality data that can be trusted. Therefore, if we want to succeed, we must review the strategy in accordance with the new data. Work on it should continue," Mykhailo Sokolov said.
