The online meeting was held with farmers, representatives of the Kherson oblast authorities and the UAC. 50 participants took part in the event.
The agricultural sector of the region is in a difficult situation, as the territory is partially occupied and mined. According to the current Ukrainian legal law, agricultural activities in the occupied area can be considered a crime. To correct the situation, it is necessary to adopt as soon as possible the draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens and the legal regime in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine" No. 7646.
"At first draft law No. 7646 should be adopted, so that agricultural production in the occupied territories will not be collaboration. This draft law, which is supported by the UAC, is currently in the parliament, but there is no further movement. Today, there is a lack of deputies in the parliament who would support the issues of the Kherson region. If in the spring the government called on farmers to sow, now in the occupied territories such activity can be considered criminal. It's not fair. The UAC will make efforts to speed up the adoption of draft law 7646", - stressed the chairman of the UAC Andrii Dykun.
The second most important among a number of problems of the region is mining, which limits the agricultural activities.
"The issue of demining is acute. We need to know exactly how much agricultural land has been mined, we are waiting for an estimate. Currently there are no real numbers, they must be collected. As for speeding up the demining process, we plan to move further and ask for help from partners, " added the chair of the UAC.
The head of Kherson Regional Military Administration Yaroslav Yanushevich spoke about the needs of the region and emphasized the role of agribusiness there and the importance of cooperation with the UAC.
"Kherson region is an agrarian region, and there are a lot of questions regarding the business area , so the assistance of the Ukrainian Agri Council is needed. I often get questions about food security in the region. In general, the region is provided with food products, but there are certain areas that are not reachable by transport, these are places with a high probability of shelling. It is difficult to deliver food packages there, but, yes, there is a need. Electricity supply in the region is under consideration too, we have a high need for generators", - began the head of Kherson Military Administration.
The UAC will continue to take care of the safety and restoration of agribusiness in the liberated and temporarily occupied territories
