The UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun took part in the World Bank roundtable discussion. They discussed the challenges and support for Ukraine's agricultural sector in wartime, as well as the prospects for the development of the industry in the context of European integration.

“The agricultural sector is a key to Ukraine's economy. Nowadays, more than ever, it is necessary to focus on tools that will help farmers survive in the short term and lay the base for sustainable development in the future,” said Andrii Dykun.

The UAC Chairman thanked the World Bank for financing the “5-7-9%” lending program, which helps farmers in a difficult wartime.

“This program is one of the real support tools. However, lending limits need to be increased, especially for livestock farmers. This is a critical point for the development of the industry,” he emphasized.

The participants also discussed the prospect of establishing standard dairy farms in every Ukrainian village as an effective model for restoring livestock production.

“Dairy farming can become the basis for economic revival in many rural communities. The World Bank should take this into account in its future support programs,” he emphasized.

Other important topics discussed at the roundtable included the staff shortage in the agricultural sector and support for farmers who were forced to move due to the war.

“Without solving these issues, we will not be able to ensure the stable development of the industry,” added the UAC Chairman.

According to Andrii Dykun, the comments and suggestions made by agrarian associations can become the basis for new initiatives of the World Bank.

“We hope that the opinions of farmers will be taken into account, because support for the agricultural sector is support for the entire Ukrainian economy,” he concluded.
