Ukraine's agricultural sector needs systemic changes in many areas; this can be achieved only being together. The UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun emphasized this issue during a meeting with farmers of Dnipropetrovsk region, which took place today, on February 3, in the village of Novoselivka, Novomoskovsk district.

"As an association who unites small and medium-sized farmers, we have managed to implement many initiatives in 2020. This is the law on the land market, in which there are no foreigners and significantly limited opportunities for large agricultural holdings to concentrate land in their hands. A revolutionary law on agricultural cooperation has been adopted for Ukraine, which will allow agricultural producers to unite and compete with agricultural holdings for the market. The VAT rate on some types of agricultural products has been reduced from 20% to 14%. Discriminatory "soybean amendments" were abolished, for which we fought for more than two years. Quotas on imports of mineral fertilizers are not allowed. This list can be continued. However, the main thing is that we have all these victories due to the fact that we were able to unite and act as a "united" front," Andrii Dykun mentioned.

The UAC is constantly in touch with the regions - in the format of online and offline meetings, during which issues relevant to the sector are discussed. Thanks to this, it is possible to find likeminded people who join the association. Thus, over the 6 years of its existence, the number of the UAC participants has increased almost 20 times: from 40 enterprises in 2014 to almost 800 in 2020.

For professional cooperation with the authorities in September 2020, by the decision of the general meeting of participants of the UAC, an advisory center "Smart Country" was established. It includes leading experts of the sector. They work on the analysis of existing laws and bills that affect the life of the agricultural sector, as well as the development and promotion of new legislative initiatives.

Also, the UAC Chairman outlined the strategy of the association for 2021: the development of cooperation, agricultural insurance, demonopolization of the fertilizer market and more.
