On behalf of the UAC agrarians-participants we call on the People's Deputies tomorrow, on March 30, at an special extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada to support the draft law №5197 on amendments to Annexes № 3 and № 4 of the Law of Ukraine "On State Budget of Ukraine for 2021" to ensure the activities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

"The authorities have made the right decision to revive the Ministry of Agriculture. There is only one step - to provide budget funding for the department. Farmers expect a full representation of the sector in the Cabinet. Ukraine is an export-oriented country. And the relevant ministry should open new markets. 45% of foreign exchange earnings came to the country through exports last year. Such a powerful industry must have a full-fledged ministry and a minister to defend its interests within the country and abroad," the UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun said.

In particular, for the Ministry of Agrarian Policy it is proposed to allocate over UAH 6.87 billion (this money includes UAH 4.93 billion is for the Ministry's staff, UAH 1.52 billion - for the State Geocadastre and UAH 422.3 million – for the State Fisheries Agency).

The document also amends changes, which establish the budget’s allocations of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy for account of the redistribution of funds between the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Environment.

In particular, it is proposed to reduce funding for the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture from UAH 15.8 billion to UAH 9.4 billion, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources from UAH 11.45 billion to UAH 11.04 billion.
