VAR deputy chairman Denys Marchuk told NEWSONE that insufficient funds were allocated from the state budget to support farmers this year. Instead of about UAH 8 billion (1% of agricultural GDP), UAH 4.2 billion was allocated to the sector.

"Is this amount sufficient? Obviously not, especially when you consider that this is planned to launch the land market and farmers promise to reduce the cost of loans to buy it. However, there is a positive thing, one that the Ukrainian Agri Council has been fighting for a long time, it’s the limitation on receiving funds for a group of related parties. This means that one company will no longer be able to receive the biggest share of budget funds, as it was in 2018, when one company received over 900 million hryvnias, "Denys Marchuk said.
