The issue of food export safety remains open. This was emphasized by the UAC Deputy Chairman UAC Denys Marchuk on the air of the 1+1 TV channel.
"It is difficult to predict how successful the next negotiations in Istanbul will be this week regarding the unblocking of Ukrainian ports. Preliminary negotiations are only declarations by the participants of the meeting. Nowadays, it is not clear how the ships will arrive and depart, because the sea is mined. Therefore, the issue of safety remains a priority one," Marchuk commented.
He noted that the problem of grain storage was becoming increasingly critical, and the agricultural sector needed help - additional funds to carry out agricultural activities in the future.
"Nowadays we consider the possibility of lending from our Western partners. To enter harvest campaign at the end of summer and start sowing in autumn, the agricultural sector needs 6-10 billion dollars. Everyone understands the problem of blocked ports and its consequences. We are becoming hostages of Russia's food terrorism," he said.
