Farmers who have lost their crops due to emergencies will be able to receive the state aid!
Today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On State Support of Agriculture of Ukraine" and other laws of Ukraine on the functioning of the State Agrarian Register and improving the agricultural producers state support" № 985-IX.
It takes into account the proposals developed by UAC and submitted during the preparation of the law:
- agricultural producers and agricultural cooperatives that have lost their crops as a result of man-cased and natural emergencies will be able to receive direct state aid
- all state support programs will include agricultural cooperatives as recipients
UAC welcomes the signing of this law, as this year's drought situation in southern Ukraine has shown how much farmers need state support. Now there will be a direct rule of law, which provides for compensation for damages by paying a budget subsidy per unit of damaged land.
In addition, the bill:
- introduces legal grounds for the State Agrarian Register functioning
- in order to legalization the work of personal farms and farms proposes to register them in the State Agrarian Register at the budget’s expense
- excludes certain provisions concerning the state agrarian intervention regulation as a form of state intervention
- give the right to receive a budget livestock subsidy to entities engaged in goat farming and aquaculture
- also - to receive state support for producers of fruits, berries, grapes, hops and aquaculture
provides that for each type of the agricultural producers state support can receive the state support in the amount of not more than ten thousand times of the minimum wage according to January 1 of the year.
