“The order of Ukrzaliznytsia to ship at least 10 wagon-cars of petroleum products to the station at one time will affect business, in particular, agriculture ones. There will be additional financial and logistical burdens. At the same time, the Railways of Ukraine offers businesses to be consolidated. And all this in war time,” commented the UAC Chairman Andriy Dykun.
"I have one question for the Railways of Ukraine: is the war over?! Our cooperative lost thousands tons of fuel, which was destroyed by the occupiers. All this time, all six months, we are trying to transport fuel in such a way as to store it in small bases and deliver it to farms as quickly as possible.
From the business’s point of view, yes: we need to be expanded. And it will have to be done without fail. But now there is a war in our country. And all these consolidations will lead to the fact that if we bring something, our competitors will - and a shell will fly to that base the next day. I understand that oil depots are not your (the Railways of Ukraine - ed.) business, but we need diversification.
I understand that the Railways of Ukraine loses funds due to the fact that it pulls 1-2 wagons at a time, but we are at war, it is absolutely impossible to do this right now (enlargement - ed.). We are also losing money - our fuel has been doubled in price. We cannot sell anything at all. We do not have a lot of tanks, and we can't sell anything at all... So, we're sitting on that grain, and we still have to sow...", Andrii Dykun noted.
