The idea of signing a memorandum between agricultural producers and traders proposed by UAC was supported by the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko. During a regular meeting on the implementation of forward contracts, the Minister said that he saw in the memorandum a guideline and a roadmap for reaching appropriate agreements that would help to reduce the number of litigations between traders and farmers.
Prepared by UAC memorandum, the ministry offered for discussion to the market participants.
According to Mykhailo Sokolov, UAC Deputy Chairman, who took part in the meeting from the association, the ministry proposes to continue the dialogue and involve farmers who were affected because of drought and have forward contracts.
A meeting on this issue will be held next week.
We recall that nowadays there is a situation on the market when many farmers due to unfavorable weather conditions are not able to supply grain to traders in full scope, according to the concluded forward contracts. UAC proposed to sign a memorandum between traders and agricultural producers, which will fix the principle of partial restructuring of forward contracts.
