At the initiative of UAC, a meeting of farmers of Kherson region with the leadership of the State Water Agency was held. They discussed many topical issues regarding the development of irrigation system in Ukraine during it. In particular, the Chairman of UAC Andrii Dykun, the Deputy Chairman Mykhailo Sokolov, the participants of UAC Volodymyr Khvostov, Serhii Rybalko, Eduard Repilevskyi, Vitalii Buliuk, Albert Cherepakha, Viktor Vyshnov attended the working meeting.

One of the most pressing issues highlighted by the participants of the meeting was the importance of Water Users’ Association (WUA) development, on the balance of which it will be possible to transfer individual reclamation system objects. This would enable WUA members to independently invest them and attract investment for the irrigation systems development.

Also, the management and representatives of UAC focused on the problem of non-transparent formation of water prices, raised the issue of settlements for electricity directly with energy companies.

A separate topic of conversation was the introduction of energy services: farmers stressed that with the current approach, the costs of implementation are unreasonably expensive and threaten the functioning of WUA, and the financial burden will be placed on the state.

The head of the State Water Agency Valentyn Shlikhta supported agricultural producers in their initiatives and mentioned that they are ready for cooperation.

UAC thanks the head of the State Water Agency for the meeting, constructive dialogue and, in return, expresses hope for further effective cooperation.
