Today a working meeting of the leadership of the UAC with farmers of Rivne, Volyn, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions took place. The UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun told the audience about the activities of the union and the initiatives that the association is working on.

“One of the priority areas of the UAC's work is the legalization of all parts of agricultural sectors (introduction of a minimum tax burden per 1 ha), admission of private traction to railway transportation. The bill will help to ensure that the excise tax, which was paid by farmers for fuel, will returned to communities. It is extremely important today to increase the state support for the agro-industrial complex and to introduce agricultural insurance, as well as to eliminate the monopoly on the nitrogen fertilizer market - we are currently defending the right to free competition in the fertilizer market in court,” Andrii Dykun said.

As the vast majority of initiatives are resolved at the legislative level, the UAC actively cooperates with People’s Deputies, the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers.

"Of course, to hear the voice of every farmer, their proposals, opinions, ideas, unfortunately, is not easy. However, the UAC, which unites 800 farms all over Ukraine, is a kind of bridge between each farmer and People’s Deputies. Therefore, it is very important to support and protect the farmers’ interests at the legislative level, to develop and implement quality laws together. Together with the UAC we already have common achievements. We have submitted for consideration and voted many agricultural bills that have been in the Verkhovna Rada for years, some bills have been improved. Talking about some things - we have not yet succeeded, but there is a roadmap of our cooperation on legislative initiatives. I am convinced that our coordination should continue to work for the development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine," a People's Deputy Oleksandr Kovalchuk said.

The UAC Deputy Chairman Mykhailo Sokolov told farmers about the issues of the already signed by the President Law “On the VAT rate reduction to 14% on some types of agricultural products”. He also spoke about the work of the advisory center "Smart Country" (which was made with the help of the UAC).

"Today there are many problems with the legislation on land consolidation, there are unsolved issues, so one of the areas, where our experts from the analytical center work is the development of a new draft bill on land consolidation," he said.

Land issues (changes to the land legislation) were discussed with the UAC lawyer on land issues Victoria Kiprianova. The issue about collective lands that were not distributed was discussed separately. The lawyer admitted that such lands have already become communal property. According to the transitional provisions of the Land Code of Ukraine, the community can conduct an inventory, assign cadastral numbers, register as a communal form of ownership and dispose of these lands at its discretion.

Agricultural producers were interested in the value of agricultural products in the domestic and world markets, as well as the development of the cooperative movement in Ukraine. The Executive Director of the First Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperative Oleksandr Buiukli, spoke about the dynamics of prices for mineral fertilizers, fuel, grain, oilseeds, etc. He also focused on the benefits of buying/selling agricultural products through the First Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperative.

Today, the UAC unites more than 800 farms with a total land bank of more than 3.5 million hectares. We achieve our goals together!
