"The First Ukrainian agricultural cooperative" (FUAC) plans to increase the land bank from 200 thousand hectares to about 400 thousand hectares in 2018. At the same time, it is planned to increase to 150 the number of household members of the FUAC, while as of today, the cooperative includes 69 agricultural enterprises with a land bank from 300 hectares to 12 thousand hectares.
This was announced by the executive director of the FUAC Alexander Buyukli during the general assembly of the cooperative, devoted to the anniversary of the organization's activities.
"Today the FUAC is already 1 year. We started with 33 farms, and today we have almost 70 farms, and 5 more want to join the cooperative. The Land Bank has grown from 130 thousand hectares to 200 thousand hectares, and this is just the beginning. I am confident that we will continue to improve these results," he said.
According to Buyukli, as of today, FUAC is already among the ten largest agricultural enterprises by size of the land bank, yielding only to Kernel agricultural holdings (604.5 thousand ha), Ukrlandfarming (570 thousand ha), Ahroprosperis (430 thousand hectares), MHP (370 thousand hectares) and "Astarta" (250 thousand hectares).
During the meeting of the cooperative, there was elected the head of the board and the board of directors of the FUAC. According to the executive director, a successful restructuring will allow the cooperative to continue to increase its performance indicators.
Following the results of the meeting, the participants of the FUAC noted the effectiveness of the association and its contribution to the development of the cooperative movement in Ukraine.
"In general, combining agrarians in Ukraine is a very difficult matter, because we did not have such a tradition as in the western countries. Nevertheless, the cooperative has appeared on the market and in a short period of time has achieved good results. We believe in success, we will also show people that the movement of cooperation in Ukraine has the right to exist and can be successful," said Sergey Ivashchuk, head of the agrarian enterprise "Perlyna Podillya" (Khmelnytsky region).

The main task of the cooperative is to help small farms to unite their efforts and to obtain the benefits available to agroholdings in the implementation of large consignments of grain, or consolidated procurement of fertilizers. In addition, FUAC helps its members to develop infrastructure and attract funding from international financial institutions.
