The Ukrainian agricultural sector needs to increase the export of products. Before the war, the country exported about 6 million tons per month. In order to now reach the pre-war level, it is necessary to load 80-100 ships with agricultural products every month through the Black Sea ports.

This statement was announced by the UAC Deputy Chairman Denys Marchuk on the broadcast of the nationwide marathon.

"I will remind you that, having sea ports, last year we loaded about 6 million tons every month. So the potential for using various export routes is growing. The only issue is ensuring the safe movement of ships in the Black Sea. 27 ships have already left our seaports. Another 18 are waiting to be downloaded, and 40 have applied for entry. If we want to reach the pre-war level, we need to load about 80-100 ships every month through the Black Sea ports," explained Denys Marchuk.

According to him, the export of grain and oil crops in August may reach 4 million tons, which is more than 50% of the pre-war level.

"In July, we managed to transport almost 3 million tons. During August, we have already exported 670,000 tons. That means, according to the results of August, we can reach an indicator of somewhere around 4 million tons of grain and oilseeds. This is even more than 50% of the pre-war indicators," said Denys Marchuk.
