An agrarian forum was held in Zhytomyr region as a part of the initiative “Dialogue Between Government and Business” with the support of the Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC). The event brought together more than 100 agricultural and food enterprises, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Zhytomyr Regional Council and community leaders.
During the forum, the participants discussed current legislative changes affecting agribusiness, including tax aspects. Attention was paid to land reclamation and the need to transfer irrigation systems to Water Users Organizations.
They also discussed the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the involvement of farmers in helping the military, in particular the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
“Agricultural producers have always been actively involved in community life and continue to support our defenders. Today, it is not only humanitarian aid but also real efforts aimed at strengthening defense capabilities. The Ukrainian Air Assault Forces are performing extremely important combat missions, and we, as businesses and communities, must help them,” said Andrii Dykun, Chairman of the UAC.
Colonel Andrii Halas, Deputy Commander of the Air Assault Forces for Logistics, Head of Logistics, spoke about the critical needs of the Air Assault Forces. According to him, the military need drones, mine trawls and other equipment, but the top priority is to provide the units with pickup trucks.
During the event, four vehicles were handed over to the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces from the Foundation run by the UAC Board member Oleksandr Yushchenko.
“Together with business representatives and community leaders, we have identified mechanisms that will allow us to quickly accumulate the necessary funds to purchase the equipment. This issue is urgent, because the success of our soldiers' combat missions depends on our support,” emphasized Oleksandr Yushchenko.
The farmers ask those who care to join the nationwide collection for 150 pickup trucks for the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces initiated by the UAC.
Each contribution brings victory closer and helps our military to perform combat missions more effectively.
