Today, August 31, the Ukrainian Agricultural Council (UAC) took part in the meeting of the Parliamentary Agrarian Committee and stressed the need to resolve logistical problems in the country as soon as possible.
Vice-Chairman of the UAC Denis Marchuk told about the difficulties of transportation by rail of grain and oilseeds through the closure of railway stations and the lack of traction for cars. Due to this problem, agrarians' expenses on logistics have tripled, and thousands of tons of grain remain blocked.
As a result of the discussion, the following proposals were supported:
✔️ to ensure a sufficient number of rolling stock and an equitable system for distributing wagons between shippers;
✔️ to allow private traction on the Ukrainian market to ensure uninterrupted transportation;
✔️ to provide a predictable procedure for increasing tariffs for rail transport in order for companies to anticipate the necessary costs in financial plans;
These proposals will be approved by the committee next week.
