Global climate change, this year's crop losses and the UCA’s work on state support for affected farmers in the southern regions. This was emphasized by the UAC Deputy Chairman Oleksandr Slipchenko in his speech during the opening of the AGRO TREND FORUM "Successful Harvest Technologies".

"Last year, Ukraine lost more than 500,000 hectares of winter crops. More than 12 million tons of wheat were harvested, which is 37% less than in 2019. Taking into account climate change, farmers today must not only change crop production technologies. There is a number of issues that are regulated exclusively by the law. Lost crops compensation, issues of state support for agricultural enterprises affected by drought, VAT refunds from crop losses, deferred tax liabilities payment, introduction of agricultural insurance are some of the issues that need to be resolved and on which the UAC is working today," Oleksandr Slipchenko said.

8 professional speakers from well-known companies told farmers about the main climate change challenges, current issues of plant protection in the southern region. Irrigation systems in drought conditions and other problematic issues were also discussed.
