The Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC) and the Advisory Center of the Association of Milk Producers (AMP) announce the launch of a new component of a project aimed at supporting small and medium-sized dairy farms in frontline regions, implemented in partnership with the international humanitarian organization MERCY CORPS. Applications from dairy farms are now open.

The goal of the project is to strengthen the economic resilience of small and medium-sized dairy farms through comprehensive technological, advisory, and veterinary support. The project предусматриє systematic support for each selected farm and includes:
- a comprehensive dairy farm audit (veterinary, technological, feeding management) with on-site expert visits to assess the actual operational status;
- preparation of a detailed report identifying priority areas for improving operational processes;
- targeted support in implementing recommendations throughout the project period;
- a final audit and evaluation of results;
- staff training and thematic webinars for participants.
A separate focus of the project is preparing farms for European standards, including the implementation of production protocols, milk quality control, documentation and traceability management, and herd health management.
An important component of the project is on-site visits by experts from the AMP Advisory Center, who will work directly with farm personnel, provide practical recommendations, and conduct hands-on training during production processes.
“Small and medium-sized dairy farms in frontline regions operate under constant security, economic, and staffing risks — from damaged infrastructure and resource disruptions to unstable logistics and a shortage of specialists. In the context of European integration, without professional support farms risk losing access to organized markets and failing to meet new requirements. Therefore, the project combines improving operational efficiency with preparation for EU standards. As a result, farms will achieve better herd health and reproduction indicators, higher milk yields and quality, optimized costs, and more stable sector performance,” said Dmytro Kokhan, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC).
The project covers the entire territory of Ukraine, with a primary focus on regions most affected by the war: Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Odesa, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Kirovohrad regions.
Within the framework of the project, support will be provided to 100 dairy farms. Priority in the selection process will be given to enterprises affected by the war. Supporting such farms contributes to preserving the dairy sector in war-affected regions, maintaining jobs in communities, and strengthening Ukraine’s food security.
Participation Conditions:
- The farm maintains up to 750 milking cows and is located in a target region of the project;
- The dairy farm covers 50% of the service cost (UAH 45,000), while the remaining 50% (UAH 45,000) is covered by the project.
