Ukrainian sunflower has risen in price amid rising stock prices for vegetable oils.

This was discussed on June 20 during a weekly briefing organized by the analytical center of the cooperative "PUSK", created within the UAC.

Last week, soybean oil prices jumped sharply on world exchanges, which affected the physical market and prices for raw materials for the production of vegetable oils, including sunflower prices.

"This week started with the price range for sunflower at around 14,000-14,500 UAH/t, last week started with prices at 12,000-12,500 UAH/t. Gradually, the market is moving from falling to growth. The other day, India bought 80,000 tons of sunflower oil from Ukraine, which contributed to the growth of oil prices on FOB terms by 60-70 USD/t, on CPT terms the oil went up by 100-110 USD/t. The market has become more active, most likely, sunflower has passed the "price level" of this season," said the analytical department of the "PUSK" cooperative.

However, the further growth of sunflower prices will be moderate and will not exceed 15,500 UAH/t.

"Probably, next week the prices for sunflower will rise to 15,000 UAH/t. However, in July, the plants will start processing rapeseed, so in the second half of July, we can expect the sunflower prices to fall. In general, we can predict that sunflower prices will not exceed 15,500 UAH/t," PUSK adds.
