Sugar beets were dug from 40% of the sown area (22.1 thousand hectares), almost 1.2 million tons of raw materials were harvested, over one million tons were delivered to the sugar factories, over 720 thousand tons of products were processed.
Experts explain the high yields not only by the technology of cultivation. The weather helped to agrarians. In the second half of the summer there was enough moisture. This contributed to an increase in the weight of root crops, which continued in September. Although in autumn this process is considered to be atypical. Meanwhile, it is fixed for the second year in a row.
Thus, last year sugar beets added 4.6 tons per hectare during harvesting. Now the situation has repeated with an even bigger plus. 54.3 t / ha per round is the best crop yield for the last five years.
Sugar content at the level of last season - 17%.
About 80 thousand tons of sugar will be produced in the Kharkiv region this season.
In Vinnitsa region, in average, 543 centners of sugar beets are dug out from each hectare. Last year they had 477 tons, and in 2016 — 491 tons. In the six working factories of the region already 110 thousand tons of sugar have been cooked.
Agrarians of the Carpathian region started digging sugar beets. This year, it is expected to gather almost 70 thousand tons. Field work continues in the region, in particular harvesting of late crops. It is noted that the region continues to harvest potatoes and vegetables, corn for grain and buckwheat, as well as late crops, in particular soybeans and sunflowers.
Farms of the Rivne region dug more than 180 thousand tons of sugar beets.
Beet harvested in fields with an area of 4.2 thousand hectares, which is about a third of the forecast. At the same time, the yield is 433 centners per hectare of sowing.
