3% of the sugar beet area has not been collected

As of November 22, Ukrainian farmers practically completed the harvesting of sugar beets, digging 97% of the crops area.

13.3 million tons of sugar beets were mined from an area of ​​270 thousand hectares with a yield of 493 c/ha.

In addition to harvesting, an autumn sowing campaign takes place. Thus, farmers sowed 7.1 million hectares of winter grain crops (98%), with an estimated area of ​​7.2 million hectares. In addition, winter rape with a projected area of ​​888 thousand hectares was planted at 1.0 million hectares (116%).

Sugar exports have grown 5 times

In October of the current marketing year, Ukrainian producers exported 58.3 thousand tons of sugar, which is 5 times more than in the previous month.

"The main deliveries were made to Uzbekistan - 60% and Azerbaijan - 22%. Also, insignificant shipment was to Tajikistan (5%), Armenia and Moldova (by 3%), "- commented the head of the analytical department of National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine "Ukrsugar" Ruslana Butylo.

In total, 69.4 thousand tons of sugar were exported during the first two months of the 2018/2019 marketing year.

According to the estimates of NASPU "Ukrsugar", sugar exports in the current marketing year will amount to about 500-600 thousand tons of sugar, while Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan will remain the main importing countries.
