As of November 14, 1.2 million tons of sugar were produced and 9.2 million tons of sugar beet were processed. 9 sugar factories have already completed production.
As predicted earlier, given the climatic conditions, the sugar content this year is lower than last year - 16.26% to 17.21%. Sugar output is also lower - 13.31 to 14.24. However, according to our estimates, the total sugar production this season will be able to keep at 2 million tons.
As of November 15, 231 thousand hectares of sugar beets were dug up, accounting for 83% of the sown area. Most of them were gathered in the Vinnytsia, Poltava and Ternopil regions.
In October of the current marketing year, Ukrainian producers exported 58.3 thousand tons of sugar, which is 5 times more than in the previous month.
Major deliveries were made to Uzbekistan - 60% and Azerbaijan - 22%. Also, insignificant shipment was to Tajikistan (5%), Armenia and Moldova (3%).
In total, 69.4 thousand tons of sugar were exported during the first two months of 2018/2019 MY.
According to National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine "Ukrsugar", sugar exports in the current marketing year will amount to about 500-600 thousand tons of sugar, while Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan will remain the main importing countries.
In Vinnytsya, the harvesting of sugar beet ends. Sugar beet dug from an area of 52 thousand hectares. With yields of 569.5 c/ha, farmers were able to harvest 2.96 million tons of beet.
In Cherkassy region 407 thousand tons of sugar beets were dug. Cherkasy region continues to harvest sugar beets. The harvest is harvested from an area of 8 thousand hectares or 60% of the plan. As it is reported, the average yield is 493 c/ha (in the year 2017 - 377 c/ha), 380 thousand tons of raw materials were exported for processing.
In Poltava region, Hadyach farmers have completed harvesting sugar beets. Sugar beet was harvested from an area of 970 hectares, received 39,770 tons, with a yield of 410 centners per hectare. The harvesting of late cereals is not finished yet.
Agrarians of Sumy region dug up 80% of sugar beet areas. The harvesting of sugar beets, which is dug out from the area of 2.7 thousand hectares, accounting for 80% of the area under cultivation, is excavated 115.4 thousand tons of root crops, with an average yield of 42.56 tons/ha. In general, the yield of main technical crops exceeds the level of the previous year.
